Mark your calendar now and plan to join Arlene H. Eakle, Ph.D. online for a day filled with expert guidance on using university libraries. 

After you take these classes you will know how to begin research using collections and holdings in university libraries. You will know how to identify manuscripts, special collections and other resources unique to colleges and universities.

Notable Presenter

Arlene H. Eakle, Ph.D. President and founder of The Genealogical Institute, Inc., Dr. Eakle is a professional genealogist with more than 30 years' experience in research, consulting, lecturing, and writing. She has addressed more than 600 conferences, expos, seminars, and retreats.

Dr. Eakle is an expert in tracing families from New York, Southern U.S., British Isles, Switzerland, and parts of Germany. She claims a 96% success rate.

Dr. Eakle writes more than six blogs—Genealogy Evidence (since 2006), Kentucky, Scots-Irish, New York, Tennessee, Virginia and The Kingdoms: England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and the Isles of the Sea. The focus of The Kingdoms blog is on the time period before America was settled, up to 1750.

The Genealogy Library Center, Inc., a non-profit genealogy library established by Arlene and her husband Alma Eakle, will be open to the public: With more than 100 manuscript collections, including a 6 ½ ton collection of English research materials; the Holly T. Hansen United States Book Collection (especially Virginia and Kentucky marriage records); and the Conner-Bishop Book Collection of more than 70,000 volumes.

Something you may not know about Dr. Eakle: She was an ethnic surname consultant to the US Bureau of the Census and the National Archives for the 1990 Federal Census.
