Event Date/Time

April 08, 2016 10:00 AM   -   April 08, 2016 11:30 AM

Description and Highlights

Join us online to receive research assistance and guidance with your personal research questions. Once you have registered fill in a timeline of information on a single ancestor or individual you are researching. Download the timeline from our "Free Downloads" page We will send you an email with additional instructions. Friday we will address your research questions (as many as possible).

You will love this "live" online learning experience. Each Question asked will take us on a unique research journey. The value of seeing how we approach a research question will be of great benefit even if you don't submit a question for yourself. Join us and learn some new strategies for online and onsite research.

We will begin with instruction on using the FamilySearch Catalog and followed by the Q&A session.

The Family History Library is the largest single repository in the World for family history research. The library holds  almost three million reels of microfilm, 500,000 printed and manuscript books, with 9,000 supporting online databases, more than 100,000 maps and more. Join us and learn to find records in this amazing collection without being intimidated by the sheer magnitude of records available. Many of the resources in the FHL are available for loan to a local Family History Center or may be available online for viewing from the comfort of your own computer.

This huge collection should be overlooked and the ability to search the catalog is the key to the collection and finding records that may hold the answers to your research.
