Invitation to the October Family History Library Retreat 2013

The October Family History Library Retreat 2013 will take place from October 28 to November 1 at the Salt Lake Plaza Hotel just steps aways from the Library. Presented by Family History Expos, this is a great opportunity to get some serious individual research help at the Family Search Library from top notch research consultants. Each day begins with a one hour class at the hotel and then all day at the Library with another one hour class at 5:30 in the evening. You can either relax in the evenings or return to the library for research on your own. The consultants will be at the Library all day to assist you individually with your research questions.

This session of the Retreat will have three consultants:

James L. Tanner : Has a B.A. Degree in Spanish, an M.A. Degree in Linguistics from the University of Utah, and a J.D. Degree in Law from Arizona State University. He has 37 years experience as a trial attorney in Arizona. He also has over 30 years experience in genealogical research and is the author of The Guide to FamilySearch Online. He is an avid Blogger and his genealogy blog, Genealogy’s Star is on of the top genealogy blogs in the US. He has been a presenter at a number of Expos and Conferences. He is the former owner of a retail computer business and Apple Macintosh software company. James is the social media coordinator at Family History Expos.

Arlene H. Eakle, Ph.D. : President and founder of The Genealogical Institute, Inc., Dr. Eakle is a professional genealogist with more than 30 years’ experience in research, consulting, lecturing, and writing. An expert in tracing families from New York, Southern U.S., British Isles, Switzerland, and parts of Germany, she claims a 96% success rate.

Sharon D. Monson : The founder of ‘GenSearch and more,’ an author, and frequent conference presenter. She has extensive research experience in courthouses, the Family History Library, and repositories spanning 30+ years. Her class presentations cover a wide range of research methods, useful tips, source document locations and unusual resources.

Early Bird Registration for the Retreat is $399.00 which expires on August 30. Full Registration is then $499.00 or $600.00 at the door. Accommodations are not included, but are available at the
